BIRTHING CENTER & HOME BIRTH MIDWIFERY SERVICES
As a family friendly birthing service provider, we encourage family involvement in prenatal care as well as the delivery of your little bundle. You are welcomed to invite your family and friends to be here with you as your baby comes into the world.
Whether you chose to birth in one of our birthing suites, or to have a home birth, our mission is to provide you the care and the support you need to help you on your way to enjoying all that Motherhood offers.
INSURANCE
Please note that as of October 1, 2024, we no longer accept insurance as a form of payment for services. We will provide an itemized receipt upon completion of care for the patient to submit to insurance on their own. If your insurance allows a GAP exception, we encourage you to apply for this prior to beginning care Freya Center.
OUR BIRTH SERVICES INCLUDE:
Prenatal Care
At Freya Center, we make it our goal to help you stay informed about health care topics related to your pregnancy and your baby. Our midwifery care begins with appointments that are customized to your specific needs. Prenatal appointments are similar to the appointments at a physician’s office but have an additional 15-20 minutes for discussion about diet, exercise, supplements and parenting topics to help prepare you for the decisions you will be making as a parent. We provide written hand-outs and resource lists to help answer common questions that arise during pregnancy and to facilitate your own research. We take the extra time to ensure that all of your questions are answered and that you and your baby are off to the right start.
Labor and Delivery
We trust a mother’s instinct on when she needs to be with her midwife and our labor care begins as soon as she feels it is desirable. Throughout labor we will monitor your baby’s heart rate, your contraction pattern, and how your labor is progressing. We use natural methods like massage, aromatherapy, relaxation points, and tools like the birthing ball, or our birth tub to help you through labor.
Postpartum Care
We feel that the jump from a 3 day postpartum visit to a 2 week postpartum visit provided in traditional medical care misses the opportunity to prevent issues from arising regarding newborn jaundice or breastfeeding, therefore we provide a home visit for mother and baby at one week postpartum to ensure that the transition into this new life is as smooth and enjoyable as it should be.
